WANETA EXPANSION PROJECT - COMMUNITY IMPACT MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

During the four and a half year construction period for the Waneta Expansion Project, the Community Impact Management Committee (CIMC) will meet on a monthly basis. Made up of local residents, members of local and regional government, First Nations and representatives from the Owner and contractor, the CIMC will provide ongoing support to encourage positive community impacts and benefits, and relay community concerns resulting from construction of the project.

In addition to the formation of the CIMC, a Socio-economic monitor has also been hired to track the most significant expected impacts, as well as any unanticipated impacts related to the construction of the project. The monitor will attend the monthly CIMC meetings and will produce quarterly summary reports on all impacts. These reports are available here.

Community Impact Management Committees and Socio-economic monitors were successfully utilized during construction of both the Arrow Lakes Generating Station and the Brilliant Expansion.
