As part of our continuing efforts to preserve and enhance our environment, Columbia Power incorporates the use of an Environmental Management System (EMS). The EMS is part of our overall management system that includes organizational structures, planning activities, responsibilities, practices, procedures, processes and resources for developing, implementing, achieving, reviewing and maintaining the environmental policy. The system itself sets standards for management at CPC.



Columbia Power has adopted ISO 14001 as our environmental management standard. ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted specification for an environmental management system. It specifies requirements for establishing an environmental policy, determining environmental aspects and impacts of products/activities/services, planning environmental objectives and measurable targets, implementation and operation of programs to meet objectives and targets, checking and corrective action, and management review.
