Columbia Power Corporation (Columbia Power) is a member of the Canadian Hydropower Association (CHA). Founded in 1998, the Canadian Hydropower Association is the national trade association dedicated to representing the interests of the hydropower industry. Its members span the breadth of the industry and, with nearly 50 members, including hydropower producers, manufacturers, developers, engineering firms, organizations and individuals interested in the field of hydropower. CHA members represent more than 95% of the hydropower capacity in Canada. Columbia Power is also a member of the WSPP (formerly known as the Western Systems Power Pool). The WSPP became a permanent entity in 1991 and exists to provide a catalyst for an efficient and robust wholesale electric power market that allows the more than 300 WSPP members to effectively manage their power deliverability and price risk, and create opportunity.

Columbia Power is also a member of the Canadian Dam Association (CDA), which provides a forum for members to share experiences and exchange ideas in the field of dam safety, public safety and environmental protection. Members of the CDA include dam owners, consultants, governing bodies, academics, contractors and equipment manufacturers.

In addition to the above organizations, Columbia Power also belongs to the Canadian Electricity Association (CEA). Since 1891 the CEA has been the voice of the electricity industry in Canada and is made up of a diverse group of members including electrical utility companies, equipment manufacturers, corporate consulting firms and several hundred other companies and individual members. The CEA is dedicated to advocacy on the issues crucial to the success of the electricity industry and offers members a wide range of innovative programs and services.

Sustainable Electricity is an industry-wide sustainability initiative developed and implemented by the electric utility members of the CEA. By focusing on a three-pronged vision of sustainability – environment, society and the economy – the electricity industry takes a holistic approach to managing our impacts and securing its collective future. The program is built on the foundation of a thorough and rigorous process involving all utility members, as well as insight and leadership from a Public Advisory Panel. The electricity industry is committed to a shared future. Participation in Sustainable Electricity is a condition of CEA membership.
