Power Project Funding
Pursuant to the Columbia Basin Accord, the Province of British Columbia committed to contribute $500 million over ten years to be used as equity funding for joint venture power projects. These contributions consisted of ten payments of $50 million and commenced on April 1, 1996 and concluded on April 1, 2005. These funds are being combined with commercial debt financing provided by private sector lenders to facilitate a total investment of over $1 billion in the Columbia Basin.
