2004 World Peace Conference 2004 A three-day World Peace Conference was held in Castlegar from November 19 - 21. CPC was happy to have sponsored this event, which hosted prominent speakers from across North America. The object of the conference was to unite and educate local communities on global peace, justice and environmental issues, as well as to teach non-violent conflict resolution skills. Selkirk College Children's Festival of Trees 2004 The Children's Festival was held on November 22, at the Castlegar and District Community Complex. The Brilliant Expansion Consortium, consisting of Columbia Power Corporation, Skanska-Chant JV, Klohn Crippen and Golder Associates, sponsored the event. The event had a variety of activities for children and parents and was well attended. Share the Warmth Campaign 2004 CPC is proud to have supported the Share the Warmth Campaign for the fourth consecutive year. The event was held in Trail, Castlegar and Nelson, and collected hundreds of warm winter items for needy families in the area. Arrow Lakes Fish Fertilization Program 2004/2005 CPC and CBT donated over $193,570 to the 2004/2005 Arrow Lakes Fish Fertilization Project. This is the sixth year that CPC and CBT have been major sponsors of this program. To date, over $1.1 million has been given by CPC and CBT. The program is recognized as the largest lake restoration project in the world. Pass Creek Fall Fair 2004 CPC was happy to participate in the ninth annual Pass Creek Fall Fair held on September 18 and 19, 2004. As part of the fair, CPC had a free children's craft table set up on the fair grounds. CPC is looking forward to attending this event again next year. Trade Fairs 2004 CPC attended six trade fairs throughout the Columbia Basin from April to June. These events allow for staff from CPC to meet residents and discuss the joint venture power projects. CPC willb e attending these events again in 2005, and look forward to meeting with residents again at that time. |
